The mermaid lakes of Croatia

As a little girl, my mom taught me about mermaids. she told me that: when the sea is so clear bleu you can see all the fish swim, when the sea is so clear you can see the bottom, when the sea is so clean there's no trash to be found, when the sea is so blue that you get hypnotized by it. then mermaids might be near by.

' If i was a mermaid i'd live in Plitvice.'

Today i went to the Plitvice lakes (also known as Plitvička jezera). This park is so magical, a day is by far not enough to explore it's beauty.
Plitvice has hundreds of secret waterfalls streaming everywhere. the water is so clean you can drink from the water, of course i did 'so now i have a little mermaid water in me.
The lakes change colors from green to blue. The park is so big you can get lost for weeks without getting bored, the park has a total of 300 km2 space. Plitvice has over a 100 sorts of beautiful butterflies, flowers, snakes, beavers, fish and brown bears.
i wish i could hike longer than just a day in this mythical mermaid park.

This summer i have been traveling in Croatia. I went to the national park Plitvice (protected by the Unesco). Plitvice (Lika-Senj) it is a 6 hour drive from the state Poreč where i'm staying. Luckily my campsite has all kinds of excursions. Also a trip to the Plitvice park , so the only thing i had to do was: get on time in the bus. We had an amazing tour guide his name is Adrian. He knows so much about the history of Croatia. It was very entertaining and interesting, a 6 hour drive isn't boring at all when he sits next to you. when we arrived in the park. we've been walking for 5 hours we saw hundreds of fish and butterflies and of course waterfalls!

This is true beauty. thank you Idunn norse goddess of youth, beauty and nature, thank you Njord god of the water. thank you Havsrå protectors of the water.

Forest fairy hikes

Today i went hiking in the forest, which is one of my favorite things to do, hiking in the woods isn't as easy as it seems. I live in Rotterdam a big city in the Netherlands so there's not much forest around here. If i want to be in nature i have to travel for it, today was a day i felt like. So i traveled 1,5 hours to be surrounded by trees. It makes me so intense happy, i wish to live in the forest one day (or at least near one).

After a couple of hours i started to head home again atleast that's what i taught, after thinking to be almost there i ended up in a field with happy sheeps living between the trees (i was a bit jaleous).

i totally didn't mind hiking more than i planned, after all the snow and cold,it is magical to see the trees turn so green again. if i have to choose i'd say winter is my favorite season i think snow is so magical (maybe it's because i'm Norwegian). But when i see all the green on the trees, the flowers, the butterflies ,i have to say spring is magical aswel. When i am thinking about it, i acually cannot choose which season i like the most i find all seasons magical! in a couple of months i will be hiking in Scotland with my dad he wants to hike it for years so i will join him. the trail takes 8 days (only the taught of being 8 days in nature makes me smile). maybe i was a forest fairy in my preveous life ;)

sending you my love and light
